Uno Loco was tasked with introducing the brand-new Jaecoo J7 to New Zealand. The launch needed to do two things at once: give automotive journalists an experience to write about and show influential figures what the brand stands for.

Uno Loco, working with NZ Story, VCO and MFAT, was asked to deliver an evening that celebrated both Kiwi and Chinese culture, showcased New Zealand at its finest and ran flawlessly under the scrutiny of world-class security.

Opportunity

This wasn’t about a flashy mega-event. It was about crafting a launch that felt uniquely Kiwi — grounded, approachable and full of personality. We had the chance to tell the brand story in a way that felt authentic to New Zealand, and leave guests talking about it long after the last hot chocolate was finished.


Our response

The day kicked off with off-road test drives for the media, followed by a shared lunch and a bespoke presentation and Q&A with senior brand reps. In the evening we switched gear into a cozy outdoorsy activation with fires, smores, hot chocolate and intimate activities. Branded candle lights, thoughtful touchpoints and the casual yet curated vibe made it feel warm, welcoming and distinctly local.


What made it special

The launch was small but unforgettable. It wasn’t about scale or spectacle — it was about personality, place and content that told the story of Jaecoo in New Zealand. Guests left with memories of adventure, laughter and the little details that make an event feel alive — and plenty of gorgeous content to match.
