New Zealand Infrastructure Investment Summit

New Zealand Trade & Enterprise

The Summit supported the Government’s economic strategy to grow prosperity by attracting greater foreign direct investment. Increased investment and partnerships are key to bridging New Zealand’s domestic savings gap and addressing the country’s significant infrastructure needs.

The purpose of the Summit was to showcase the Government’s economic growth agenda and demonstrate that New Zealand is open for business. The programme focused on three key pillars:

New Zealand’s infrastructure vision and upcoming public investment opportunities

Policy and regulatory changes to make it easier to do business here

Wider investment opportunities across growth sectors and the Māori economy

Opportunity

Working alongside The Treasury - New Zealand, with coordination and support from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and New Zealand Story, Uno Loco delivered a multi-day event experience that brought together ministers, global investors, and industry leaders.

From the welcome event and pōwhiri to the gala dinner at Auckland Museum, every element of the Summit was designed to position New Zealand as a sophisticated, outward-looking investment partner ready for international collaboration.

Our response

We explored symbols that reflect Aotearoa’s identity through a modern lens, blending traditional forms with a contemporary aesthetic. Our central design motif, the Blue Whare roof (maihi), came to life through the imagery of stars set against a dark sky - elegant, minimal and distinctly New Zealand. This visual language extended across motion, staging, and digital design, creating a cohesive experience that balanced formality with cultural depth.

What made it special

This project was a rare opportunity to reimagine traditional structures in a contemporary context - to honour cultural roots while creating something distinctly modern.

Designing a creative platform that would stand behind international leaders and investors, and represent New Zealand on the world stage, made the work both creatively fulfilling and deeply meaningful. The Summit not only celebrated our culture but projected it confidently into a global conversation about investment, innovation, and partnership.
