European Union - New Zealand Business Summit

Aligning with Uno Loco’s vision to “design events and experiences that bring people together, move mindsets, shift behaviors and create action,” this summit aims to: Demonstrate the strength of EU-NZ partnership built on shared values and complementary economic priorities.

The European Union sought an experienced event partner to produce the inaugural EU-NZ Business Summit - the first of its kind in Aotearoa. Expectations were high. The event needed to set the tone for future collaboration, showcasing innovation, partnership and shared purpose between Europe and New Zealand.

Opportunity

This was a rare chance to design a platform that would bring together government, business, and industry leaders from both regions to strengthen ties and inspire new commercial relationships. With the recent EU-NZ Free Trade Agreement creating fresh momentum, the Summit’s goal was to highlight opportunities across five key sectors: infrastructure, clean energy, agritech, technology, and the Māori economy.


Our response

Uno Loco provided full end-to-end production, including creative identity, technical direction, stage design and management, website build, registration management and theming and styling for both the welcome cocktail event and the full-day summit.

Our creative team used the five key themes as the foundation for a bold, memorable event identity. Bright colours drawn from the UN Sustainable Development Goals were layered with modern geometric forms, creating depth and energy across every touchpoint. Against deep blue backgrounds connecting the EU and NZ, the design felt globally relevant yet uniquely local.

Technically, the event ran seamlessly - over 40 presenters across the day, keynote addresses from government and industry leaders and a warm welcome from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to the visiting European delegation.


What made it special

From the energy in the room to the conversations that sparked new partnerships, the Summit was a powerful demonstration of collaboration in action.

Playing a role in this landmark event - the first EU-NZ Business Summit ever held - was both an honour and a reflection of Uno Loco’s capability to deliver events of international calibre. It brought people together, moved mindsets and created a platform for future connection between two regions with shared values and ambitions.
